Natural Energy Healing for Perimenopause: Balance Hormones & Ease Fatigue Through the Koshas

Jul 22, 2025

Hey love,

How are you? I missed the Marigold Musings email list month, but I'm back this month. I love writing these emails to you because I feel like we can go so much deeper than on insta, it just feels more intimate.

I've just been down in my garden, feeding the chickens treats so they don't jump the fence and demolish my garden beds like they did last week! (At least they're giving us lovely eggs lols

My masala chai was enjoyed in the sunshine, recharging in the most beautiful way. Winter has a way of draining me, you might be the same or maybe you love this season? But I do find that it's a wonderful time to take life a little slower and go within for reflection.

Something I'm noticing in the women I work wth and the wider collective is that even though we're doing all the right things - eating well, taking the supplements, moving, even meditating - something still feels… off.

I'm currently completing my Restorative Yoga Teacher Training with my wonderful teacher, Katie Rose and it's hit me like a ton of bricks, we are all so. bloody. tired.  And no matter what you do you still don't feel great because the quiet voice of the subtle body calling you to rest.

Is this the missing link?!

In the yogic tradition, we speak of the koshas — five sheaths or layers that surround the soul. Think of them like petals of a marigold, each one with its own texture, wisdom, and need for care.

When we’re out of balance (hello perimenopause, exhaustion, burnout), it’s not always the outermost petal that needs tending - it’s often something deeper.

Here’s a little glimpse into these beautiful layers and how they might be speaking to you:

🌿 Annamaya Kosha — your physical body
The fatigue. The hormonal changes. The craving for stillness.
What it needs: Rest, nourishment, sleep, sacred pause.

💨 Pranamaya Kosha — your energy body
The anxiety. The shallow breathing. The sense of depletion.
What it needs: Breath, nature, energetic healing, presence.

🌀 Manomaya Kosha — your emotional body
The grief. The mind loops. The old stories you carry.
What it needs: Compassion, mantra, loving awareness.

🌙 Vijnanamaya Kosha — your intuitive body
The self-doubt. The disconnection from your inner compass.
What it needs: Stillness, journaling, deep listening.

✨ Anandamaya Kosha — your bliss body, the spirit-soul
The feeling that joy is far away.
What it needs: Soul rest, connection to the sacred, beauty, ritual.

What I love about this model is that it reminds us healing is not linear. You might feel a physical symptom that’s actually asking you to begin at the energetic layer. You might feel emotionally flat when what you really need is breath and space in the energy body.

And most importantly, this way of healing honours the feminine form - spiral-like, non-linear, intuitive, deeply sacred.

This week inside the Marigold Membership, we explored a full guided energetic healing journey through the koshas (you can access it anytime if you’re inside 🌼). But even if you’re not, here’s a little invitation for you to try:

✨ Mini Practice:
Place one hand on your heart, one on your womb.
Take five slow breaths.
Ask gently: “Which part of me needs attention right now?”

Sit and listen....

You might be surprised what whispers back.

Here are some journalling prompts that you might find helpful to go a little deeper.

  • What is my body asking me to pause for right now?

  • Which layer of my being feels most nourished? Which needs more care?

  • What old stories am I ready to release?

  • How can I honour rest as a sacred practice this week?

Much love,

Edwina 🌼
