Sacred Balance: Embracing Your Body’s Wisdom in Perimenopause

What a beautiful and insightful session we had! 💛 A big thank you to everyone who joined live—it was such a joy to gather in this space and explore the wisdom of perimenopause together. Session Highlights

Understanding Perimenopause Through Ayurveda

  • We talked about the natural transition of estrogen decline, reframing it as a shift from the fiery, driven Pitta phase to the intuitive, light Vata phase of life. Instead of seeing these changes as something to “fix,” we explored how to support our bodies through nourishment, movement, and rest.
  • Book recommendation: The Wisdom of Menopause by Dr. Christine Northrup.

🍲 Nourishing Your Body for Hormonal Balance

  • Ayurveda teaches that digestion is key, and as we move into perimenopause, we benefit from warming, slow-cooked foods that ground Vata energy.
  • Ingredients like root vegetables, healthy fats, and spices (ginger, turmeric, cinnamon) help support metabolism and overall well-being.

💆🏻‍♀️ Balancing Hormones & Stress

  • Before reaching for supplements, we looked at foundational lifestyle shifts:
    • Better sleep: reading before bed, using essential oils, creating a wind-down routine.
    • Gentle movement: yoga, strength-based workouts, and restorative practices like Yoga Nidra to support hormonal health.
    • Stress management: slowing down, self-care, and listening to what our bodies truly need.

💪 Exercise & Movement for Vitality

  • Rather than intense workouts that may deplete energy, we discussed how strength training, yoga, and mindful movement can support bone health, energy levels, and hormonal balance.

📖 Self-Inquiry & Trusting Your Body

  • Perimenopause is a time of deep wisdom, and one of the most powerful tools we have is self-inquiry.
  • I invited everyone to journal about their body’s changes, what messages their body is sending, and what small shifts could bring more balance.
